Yong Cho, Ph.D. | Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Cho is the CEO of the Tree Group. He is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New York. He graduated from the University of Utah and received his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the New School for Social Research in New York. He started his clinical training at Beth Israel Medical Center and was trained extensively at the Zucker Hillside Hospital/ North Shore Long Island Health System.
He established the Tree Group in 2003 to provide evidence-based psychological services in New York and in Seoul. With dedicated support from distinguished psychologists in the U.S., the Tree Group accomplishes its mission of relieving the suffering of its clients and of educating and training future clinicians with true compassion.
His expertise in the field of cultural psychology and transcultural mental health was noted in the New York Times (2003) and he has been providing ethical services to culturally diverse clients. His professional specialties also allow him to reach out to the survivors of human rights violations and sexual assault at the Open Clinic for Human Rights Victims, a non-profit organization.
Songhee Chae, M.A. | Vice-President of the Tree Group / Professional Psychotherapist
Ms. Chae, the Vice-President of the Tree Group and a professional psychotherapist, graduated from Ewha Women’s University with a degree in Psychology and received her master’s degree at the same university. She received clinical training from the Tree Group and its affiliated institution, EBTCS (Evidence-Based Treatment Center of Seattle). She further completed DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) training in Behavioral Tech. She is an expert in DBT and PE (Prolonged Exposure) treatment and focuses on BT (Behavioral Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) for children, adolescents, and adults. She also treats sexual violence survivors and other clients with trauma. She is an advisor for other related institutions and groups as well.

Seungha Lee, MSc | Manager of DBT Center of Korea and the International Psychological Services / Psychotherapist, Active Learning Specialist
Ms. Lee is a psychotherapist and the manager of International Psychological Services (IPS) at the Tree Group. She graduated from McGill University with a degree in Psychology and received a master’s degree with Distinction in Psychology at University College London. Her research at University College London focused on inhibition in early vs. late bilinguals. She also has a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate. She conducts behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy for children, adolescents, and adults under IPS and DBT. She also gives bilingual education under ALC.

Seonghae Jeon, M.P.A. | Manager of Active Learning Center / Active Learning Specialist
Ms. Jeon is an Active Learning Specialist and the manager of the School of Life – Active Learning Center (ALC) at the Tree Group. She graduated from the State University of New York-Binghamton University with a degree in mathematics and received her Masters in Public Administration at the same university. She received a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate from the International TEFL Academy and taught English and Korean in the New York YMCA and in Tokyo Language School. She worked as an advisor in the Office of International Services and institutions for Asian immigrants in New York, helping international students and immigrant communities. Se educates bilingual children, adolescents, and adults under ALC.
