DBT Class for Adolescent & Family

DBT class for adolescents & families is part of the DBT program designed to teach DBT skills in the following five modules.

DBT Skills Training Class for Adolescents & Families Module

Mindfulness skills help adolescents as well as their families to reduce emotional suffering while increasing happiness. It also helps to increase awareness of their own emotions, thoughts, and urges.

 

The distress tolerance skills help reduce impulsive behaviors and learn to accept reality as it is.

 

The skills in the emotion regulation module can be applied to improve positive emotions while reducing negative emotions.

 

In the interpersonal effectiveness module, adolescents and their families learn ways to build and maintain healthy relationships and build self-respect.

 

The way to a healthy relationship is to validate each other and the methods to dialectical thinking and acting can be learned in the Walking the Middle Path module.
